Transfer in Paphos

Paphos is a city on the coast of Cyprus separated by the Troodos mountain range from the rest of the island. Due to this, the climate is milder than in other resorts in Cyprus. The weather in Paphos is comfortable, in the holiday season there is almost no precipitation, the temperature varies from +25 °C to +34 °C.

Paphos Airport is a 20-minutes drive from the city by car. It means that there is no question of how to get to Paphos. Actually, shuttles run not very often, fewer than once an hour. Taxi stand in the parking lot near the exit of the airport terminal. If you arrive at the international Larnaca Airport, the best way to get to the hotel is transfer. The distance between the settlements is 133 kilometres - the journey will take about 1.5 hours.

The city is conditionally separated into two parts: Pano Paphos (upper) and Kato Paphos (lower). In the first, there are administrative buildings, shopping malls, and residential buildings. In the second, there are the attractions, restaurants, souvenir shops and representative hotels.

Hotels in Paphos are quite expensive because initially the resort was positioned as a luxurious vacation for Europeans. One night in a 5 * hotel with a swimming pool and sandy beach and a view of the moored yachts will cost as in other similar resorts. In the hotels located not on the first line, the prices are quite acceptable. Also, you can find cheap apartments in Upper Paphos. It is better to make a reservation in advance.

Mythology and Paphos are associated with each other. According to a legend, the founder of the city is the participant in the Trojan battle. He built the temple of Aphrodite that emerged from the sea ashore in Paphos. The remains of the sacred land of Aphrodite, the Temenos, can be visited in the old part of the city. If you want to delve deeper into mythology, you need to head to Aphrodite's stone or bath of Adonis. Walk along the trail in the Avakas Gorge or explore the underwater world of the Peyia Coral Bay. This is not all the attractions of Paphos. In the upper part of the new city, It is worth to visit Jami Kebir mosque, the medieval Turkish baths, and the covered market. In Kato Paphos, draw your attention to Paphos Castle, Fort of Fourty Candles and excavations near Villa Dionysus. Paphos is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and named the European Capital of Culture in 2017.

You can rent a car with a driver in Paphos to see all the historical heritage. The city is worth to stay in it for more than 3 days.
