Reviews
Plan your journey to Norway in advance. Take care of the tickets, hotel room and transfer ahead. The Trondheim airport receives only internal flights and is 30 km away from the city. You can reach the city either by Flybussen buses or trains. If you arrive in Oslo, the road will take 5-7 hours. Such long trips are much more comfortable in a car. Leave a transfer application on our website and travel with comfort.
You should choose a hotel in Trondheim as soon as possible. This is due to the fact that Norway hotels are more expensive than in other European countries and that during a high season it becomes hard to find a room.
Trondheim used to be the capital of Norway. Its main landmark is the XII-XIV century Nidaros Cathedral which is built on the burial site of St. Olaf. It is one of the oldest Gothic buildings in Norway. It is here the monarchs of Norway are crowned. The old wooden residence of 1774 is preserved in the city. Each year, in honor of King Olaf, large scale celebrations take place from July to August. During this time, people can visit many theatrical plays, musicals, art exhibitions and a medieval fair where handmade trinkets of bone, wood and ceramics can be bought.
Fishing is one of the main industries in Trondheim. In XVIII-XIX centuries the fishermen occupied a whole quarter of the city. It can be easily found due to bright and colorful houses that stand on piles along the Nid River. Today this quarter is very popular due to many shops and seafood restaurants. The Ravnkloa Fish Market is also nearby. There you can buy fresh herring and salmon. You can also take a boat to the Munkholmen monastery.
