There is no airport in Lund, but the city is close to major transport hubs: Sturup (Malmo) and Kastrup (Copenhagen). The first is 18 kilometers away, the second is 38 kilometers away. You can get there by train or by bus. There are also taxis.
What to see in Lund? The first stop of your tour should be the XII century Cathedral- same as in the postcards. The building is 55 meters in height, inside there is an astronomical clock with a XV century Church calendar. The mechanism announces the time twice a day. And the Cathedral periodically hosts ceremonies and concerts. Lund is considered to be the religious center of Northern Europe. In the XIV century, an Episcopal residence was built within the Old City, and later the building was given to one of the most prestigious Universities in Scandinavia. The university occupies historical buildings. For example, the Dean's office is located in the XIX century" Palace ". The walls of the public Library are impressively covered with greenery.
There are many parks in Lund, it is one of the greenest cities of Europe. The Botanical garden was found in 1690, it is the favourite place for local residents to take walks. The weather in Lund will not let lovers of long walks down. The temperature in winter rarely falls below – 3 °C, in summer, it often reaches +25 °C.
As soon as you visit all the sights of Lund, go to Delby, a town 15 kilometres outside the city. Here, you will find the oldest stone Church in Scandinavia built in the Romanesque style. There is a preserved XI century sandstone baptismal inside. To get to Delby, you will need a car - rent a car in Lund. Travel more often and with comfort!
