By train

Unfortunately FLL has no direct connection to the Miami train system. But there is a free airport shuttle bus to Fort Lauderdale Airport train station, which will take around 20 minutes. When you get there, you then take a connecting train to MetroRail Station in Miami. The train ride will take 40 minutes. Total travel time is 50 minutes. One-way train ticket costs $5. Trains are available from 5 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and from 7 AM to 10 PM on holidays and weekends. 

Shuttle bus stops are located on the lower level:

• At the west end of Terminal 1
• At the east end of Terminal 4​

By bus

In order to get to a bus station take a free shuttle bus from the airport. Taking a bus is a bit cheaper than going by train, but the difference is minor. One-way ticket on 595 Express will cost $3.60. You will spend an hour in total to get to Maimi city center. 

The Express bus is available at the Fort Lauderdale airport from 5:40 AM to 7:45 PM 

By taxi

This is the fastest and most comfortable option by far. It will cost you a little more, but that’s the price of a stress-free and comfortable journey from the airport to the city. Every cab at the airport has a taximeter, so the price will depend on the time and distance travelled. The trip usually takes 30 minutes, but it heavily depends on the traffic situation. The ride cost is about $70. 

All the vehicles coming to pick up passengers must park in the Cell Phone Waiting Area. When you’re ready to be picked up, you call the driver, who will meet you on the arrivals level between Terminals 1 and 2 or 3 and 4.
