You can reach the city in several ways. The Stavanger airport is just 14km away from the city. You can take a bus or shuttle from there or, alternatively, a taxi or a transfer.

The main landmark of the city is the Stavanger Cathedral, the oldest in the country. This majestic building towers over the Breiavatnen lake. If the weather in Stanager is good, climb the Valanhaug hill. From its 85m height, you can enjoy a view of the city.

We advise not to stay too long in the city. Locals love nature and open-air activities. If there is no snow, they do nordic walking. Hiking is also very popular and there are many touristic paths, markers and maps in many places. If you seek extreme experience, go to Kerag mountain and take a base jump from the top.

If you travel with kids, they will certainly enjoy the Norway Disneyland - Kongeparken or Gavana aquapark, both of which are about 30km away from the city. Rent a car in Stavanger to travel with comfort!
