Esbjerg is a popular city among the Danes. Families come here during the vacation to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, tasty cuisine and quiet city.
There are several ways to get to Esbjerg. You can take a train from Munich. The transport connection between Denmark and Germany is well established: you can travel by plane or by bus. The city was founded in the XIX century and almost immediately began to grow as a major agricultural port. The Esbjerg specialty is fishing and seafaring and city museums are dedicated to that. Just 5km away is Fanø island where you can practice surfing or kiteboarding, go waterskiing or just play volleyball. Then, visit Ribe - the oldest city in Denmark, just 20km away from Esbjerg. They say Vikings used to live here and now you can learn how they lived. Tourists with kids can go to Legoland which is open from March to October.
