You can use three options to be in the center:
Where to stay?
Budapest is a beautiful city. You can choose a hotel in any area of the city. Of course, it is better to choose in the center, as there are the main monuments and attractions.
If you want something luxurious, book a room at the New York Palace Hotel, The Dedica Anthology, Autograph Collection (Erzsébet körút, 9-11). The building of the XIX century is located in the heart of the city. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture and decorated with Murano glass chandeliers, and there are silk wallpaper on the walls. There is a fitness center, spa, beauty salon and children's entertainment complex on site.
Many tourists are attracted by the Eurostars Budapest Center (Kossuth Lajos U., 7-9). It is located a 3-minute walk from the Great Synagogue, the National Museum and the Astoria metro station. The rooms have a modern and laconic interior, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay and entertainment.
One of the best hotels in the city is La Prima Fashion Hotel Budapest (Piarista u., 6). Convenient location, stylish interior rooms, quality service make it popular among tourists. 900 meters from the building built Rudas baths and the Danube River, above which the Chain Bridge rises.
There are also apartment hotel options in Budapest. Pay attention to 7Seasons Apartments Budapest (Király utca, 8). You can reserve apartments with one, two or three bedrooms and a separate kitchen. At 50 meters from the complex there is Ferenc Deak Square, St. Stephen’s Basilica and the State Opera House.
Tourists who want to visit the thermal pools without leaving the hotel book rooms at The Aquincum Hotel Budapest (Árpád fejedelem útja, 94). The Aronia Spa offers a variety of treatments: algae wrap, lymphatic drainage and flotation. There is also a swimming pool, steam bath, hot tub and fitness room. The building is surrounded by a large green park Aqua.
Where to go?
Familiarity with the city should begin with the Buda Castle, the old royal residence. The castle towers over the Danube and is visible from anywhere in Budapest. From the thirteenth century coronations of monarchs took place here. Today, the Ludwig Museum, the Hungarian National Gallery and the State Library, the archive of which has more than 6 million publications, are located on the premises.
Go down and take the № 16 bus at the nearest bus stop. You need to exit near the Royal Palace, the next point of the route. For centuries, monarchs lived and ruled the country in this building. The castle was burned several times by the Turks during raids, but historians managed to preserve household and interior items, clothing and jewelry.
10 minutes walk from the famous fountain of King Matthias. The monarch towers over the wounded deer, below is retinue and servants. A short distance away sits the figure of a girl in love with Matthias. The sculptural ensemble of 1904 symbolizes the people's love for the imperial family.
The next day, go to the Heart of Budapest. So call the locals Heroes Square and the adjacent Varosliget Park. Here in 1896, the Hungarians celebrated the millennium of the country. In the center stands the monument to the Millennium Monument.
Parallel to the square is Andrassy Avenue. There are solemn processions and events, there are old residential buildings and small coffee shops.
We recommend you to visit the State Opera. To get to it you need to take the bus number 10 and get off at the Oktogon Square stop. There begins the holiday part of the same street. The building was built in the middle of the XIX century, it is considered the most beautiful in the world and attracts attention as an external interior, and internal. Outside, the facade is decorated with three-meter statues, and the auditorium is made in gold and red colors. There are frescoes on the ceiling and large crystal chandeliers. Buy a ticket and go on a trip.
Start the third day with a walk around the Belvaros district in the Old Town. Walk along the famous souvenir restaurant Vaci, which stretches along the Danube from Customs Square to Vereshmarti. Pay attention to the red mailboxes preserved from the XIX century and to the tenement houses with Atlanta and lions on the facades. In Belvaros it is possible to consider every building, since architecture has always occupied an honorable place in Hungary.
