Il n'y a pas d'aéroport à Sigtuna, Arlanda est le plus proche situé près de Stockholm. Il peut être atteint par les transports publics en une heure et en voiture en 15 minutes. Si vous souhaitez arriver à une chambre d'hôtel confortable rapidement après l'atterrissage, prenez un taxi ou réservez un transfert. Au fait, une chambre à l'hôtel Sigtuna doit également être réservée à l'avance. La ville est petite, mais elle attire beaucoup de touristes.

Qu'y a-t-il à voir à Sigtuna? La ville a beaucoup de ruines antiques d'églises à voir, beaucoup d'entre elles ont été détruites en raison de la Réforme pendant le règne du roi Gustav Vasa. Néanmoins, l'église Sainte-Marie du XIIIe siècle a survécu, c'est le plus ancien bâtiment de la ville et un exemple de style gothique sud scandinave. L'attraction la plus intéressante sont les pierres runiques. Il y en a 10 dans la ville, chacun a une dédicace ciselée pour une personne ou un événement, certains ont des croix, d'autres ont des prières. Dans les environs de Sigtuna, vous ne pouvez trouver que 150 monuments construits au Xe siècle.

La ville est considérée comme la première capitale de la Suède - fondée par le roi Olaf. Le profil du monarque a été frappé avec du plomb dans la première monnaie de la rue principale de Storagattan. Les citadins sont fiers que c'est de là que provient le secteur suédois de la monnaie. Des pièces commémoratives en argent ont été émises pour le 1000e anniversaire de la cour.

La rue principale mène au lac Mälaren, où vous pouvez faire un tour en bateau loué ou en canoë. Vous pouvez également faire du vélo, vous promener ou pique-niquer sur l'herbe dans l'un des parcs de la ville. Si vous avez de la chance avec la météo à Sigtuna, nous vous conseillons de passer autant de temps à l'extérieur que possible.

Le château de Stening est à 8 kilomètres de la ville, il y a un centre culturel, des galeries d'art, des ateliers de poterie, de soufflage de verre et de bougie à l'intérieur. Ici, vous pouvez acheter des produits fabriqués par des artisans locaux. De l'autre côté du lac Mälaren, il y a des tours Skokloster - chefs-d'œuvre de l'architecture suédoise. Les intérieurs riches, atypiques à son image moderne d'un pays sobre, sont luxueusement frappants. Louez une voiture à Sigtuna et découvrez le passé du pays avancé.
