V blízkosti Mariboru je spojená železničná vlaková stanica. Napríklad slovenské ICS Express z InterCity prebieha päťkrát denne do Ľubľany. Vo východnej časti mesta je autobusová stanica, z ktorej sa nachádzajú mestské a medzinárodné autobusy. Otváracie hodiny od 08:00 do 21:30. Ak chcete radšej preskúmať oblasť sami, požičajte si bicykel na jednom z mnohých prenájmov. Pre cyklistov sa po celom meste vyrábajú špeciálne chodníky.
