Cologne is located in the western part of Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia, off the banks of the Rhine River. During the Second World War, all buildings were destroyed, except for the Cologne Cathedral. Its construction began in the middle of the 13th century and ended in the late 19th. This is the third highest church, which reaches 157 meters. Monumental Gothic facade and towers delight tourists: sometimes the cathedral is compared with Notre-Dame de Paris.
