Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and one of the oldest cities in the country, located at the intersection of the Sava and Danube rivers. Its construction began in the late XIX century. Climb the hill Gardos, with old snow-white houses with tiled roofs built on it. Visit the Millenium Tower and appreciate the magnificent view of the city from the observation deck.
If you want to see the most lively and colourful quarter in the city, visit Skadarlija where artists, musicians and actors live. The sights of Belgrade do not end here. Palaces are an important part of urban architecture. In the heart of Dedinje White and Royal castles stand high while the Old Palace is occupied by the City Council. House of Flowers became the mausoleum of Josip Broz Tito, leader of Yugoslavia.
What is the convenient to travel in Belgrade? More than 150 routes of buses, trolleys and trams connect the centre with the suburbs. Private carriers are also popular. Daily routes are available from 07:30 to 23:00 and night ones from 00:00 to 04:00. Taxis in Belgrade are expensive and not popular with locals and tourists. To see more of Belgrade, we recommend to rent a car with a driver. This way you save time and don’t get lost in a complicated traffic system.
