Do you plan to go on a vacation in the mountains? Consider Serbia. There is Kopaonik National Park, full of beautiful flora and fauna. The Kopaonik ski resort is located at the base of the Pančić's Peak - the highest mountain in the country. It is the largest and most famous resort in Serbia. It also serves as a training station for the national winter sports teams. Tourists from the neighboring countries come here to ski.
How to get to Kopaonik? The resort is between two large cities. As the country is rather small, you will have little trouble getting to your destination. A direct train travels between the city and the resort. It is also possible to reach Kapaonik by bus from the nearest airports of Nisha and Belgrade. The bus route is the most accessible and takes 5 to 7 hours, depending on the traffic. Taxi is quite expensive, so travelers prefer to transfer which is cheaper, faster and more comfortable.
Kopaonik is the most popular resort in Serbia. The climate here is very mild, the average temperature in winter is –5 °C. Due to artificial snow, most of the tracks are ready for skiing in November. The skiing season lasts until March.
The modern ski resort infrastructure attracts sportsmen from all around the Balkans. There are tracks for everyone. The higher the starting point of the track the harder the track is. There are numerous activities for children.

The summer Kopaonik attracts the hiking enthusiasts. The nearby national park has 825 plant species and 148 bird species.
There is a number of things you can see in Kopaonik. Aside from the national park, you can visit religious monuments. For example, XII century Studenica Monastery which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is built from white marble and decorated with Byzantine frescos. Another nearby monastery, XIII century Žiča, is the largest women community (45 novitiates). To see as much as possible in the region, try to rent a car with a driver in Kopaonik.
