Luzon is the largest island in the Philippines, which is the capital of Manila and another major city – Quezon. To the East, the island is washed by the Philippine Sea, to the West by the South China Sea, and the Luzon Strait is separated from the Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan. How to get to Luzon Island? In Manila there is the international airport of Luzon, where planes arrive from Asian or European cities.
In the Philippines tourists go primarily for a beach holiday. All year round, the air temperature is to +27C°. However, from June to October there are the strongest typhoons on the archipelago. There are many beaches in each region (8 in total). The territory is very clean, the water is clear, but the infrastructure is not everywhere. For divers in coastal waters there are interesting sites: for example, the Subic Bay with a sunken ship.
The relief on the island is mountainous. There are many extinct and active volcanoes, waterfalls, underground springs, caves and other natural attractions. The Banka mountain is considered sacred to several religious groups, and Taal is considered the most smallest active volcano. It is equally interesting to visit the caves and Sagada grottoes, which are 400 kilometers from the capital. It is worth to go here with the flavors or with a guide.
Another place that is worth your attention is the rice terraces on the slopes of the Cordillera. Their length is about 22 thousand kilometers. The locals consider the fields of Banaue a real eighth wonder of the world, and we will agree with them.
What else to do in Luzon? There are 2 national parks on the island. In Quezon there are the volcano Taal and its eponymous lake. A spa resort on Laguna de Bai Lake is in Hidden Valley. Healing springs beat from the ground, so tourists come here for treatment and cosmetic procedures.
The island is best to travel by car. Rent a car with a driver in Luzon to get to the most interesting places of the island. In Manila, there are metro and trains that run throughout the capital. The easiest way to get from the airport to the hotel and vice versa is by car. Book a transfer to the island of Luzon, to less than an hour already standing in a hotel room.
