De mediterrane luchthaven ligt op 10 kilometer van de stad Montpellier. Het is een van de tien grootste luchthubs van het land. Hier is één terminal gebouwd die regionale, charter- en internationale vluchten bedient. In 1946 was er een militaire basis op de plaats van de luchthaven, civiele vluchten verschenen pas aan het einde van de twintigste eeuw. Na een grootschalige reconstructie in 2020 wordt het de meest moderne en gemoderniseerde luchthaven van Frankrijk. In de terminal zijn souvenirwinkels en cafés, geldautomaten en informatiestands geïnstalleerd. WiFi is de eerste 30 minuten gratis.

Hoe kom je van Montpellier naar Mediteranean Airport? Vanaf de halte "Square of Europe" rijden dagelijks pendelbussen. De reis duurt ongeveer 45-50 minuten. U kunt in het hotel bij de receptie een taxi bestellen of een auto met chauffeur huren.
